What I am doing

Getting ready to attempt to build a version of CygNet that uses IP v6

  • re-reading the canonical TCP/IP v4 book(s), to wit:
  • TCP/IP Illustrated, Volume 1: The Protocols
    By: W. Richard Stevens
    Publisher: Addison-Wesley Professional
    Print ISBN-10: 0-201-63346-9
    Print ISBN-13: 978-0-201-63346-7
  • reading everything about v6 that appears to be authoritative
  • setting up a dedicated and isolated research subnet for network experimentation including (but not limited to) v6
  • working with Will and Stephen to get v6 network allocation (addresses) assigned
  • installing v6 on all my machines, including the Linux VMs, to (re?)familiarize myself with v6 tools

Taking a look at our RUDP implementation

    • I especially like this because while I’m rooting around in the sources, I run across gems like Gary Wescom’s original R-UDP whitepaper.
